We had a fantastic time! I would highly recommend Ingo (skipper) and this catamaran for your trip. Ingo was extremely knowledgeable and showed us the best spots to get into the water and what spots we should avoid.

Menorca is a beautiful island with superb anchorages both to the south and north. Be careful with a catamaran on the price of the buoys, we were a little surprised to pay €90 for a buoy facing Colom Island on the East.
Minorque est une ile magnifique avec des mouillages superbes tant au sud qu'au nord. Attention avec un cata sur le prix des bouées, nous avons été un peu surpris de payer 90 € pour une bouée face à l'Ile Colom sur l'Est.

Sailing between Tarragona and Menorca in September is undoubtedly a fascinating experience, but it is essential to keep a close eye on the weather forecast to avoid unpleasant surprises. Bad weather can be unpredictable at this time of year, and safety must always be the priority. As for the boat, it is good to know that it performed excellently even in 34 kt winds. However, it is true that with such high wind intensity, the 49 hp engine is somewhat limited. In these conditions, sailing skills become crucial in order not to overly lengthen the crossing. Despite the intensity and duration of the crossing, which can last around 28 hours, the trip is a unique and memorable experience that deserves to be experienced at least once. The combination of a robust boat and good sailing technique can turn a challenging crossing into an unforgettable adventure. Definitely a trip that leaves a mark!

Charter a catamaran in Spain with or without captain with SamBoat

Spain is located in the southwest of Europe and is bordered by countries like France and Portugal. Spain and Portugal form the Iberian Peninsula, which is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cantabrian Sea. The culture in Spain is enormous due to the numerous autonomous communities that the country has. One of the most important is Catalonia, whose capital, Barcelona, is characterised by its monuments and harbour. Rent a sailboat in Spain and enjoy the nice weather and the sea.

Spain has thousands of kilometres of coastline and long sandy and pebble beaches. The most popular areas are the coves of Andalusia, the beaches of Catalonia and the world-famous Balearic Islands. Charter a boat in Spain and create an itinerary to see all the beaches and the Canary Islands. Sailing in Spanish waters is the best way to see the most beautiful sunsets.

Catamaran rental in Spain

The best way to enjoy Spain and its coastline is to rent a catamaran. If you rent a catamaran you can easily visit the most touristic cities and islands in this country. Visit La Caleta beach in Cadiz, where the famous James Bond film "Die Another Day" was filmed. Rent a catamaran and feel like you are part of the movie.

Visit the island of Mallorca, one of the most famous and visited islands in Spain. Create an itinerary and rent a catamaran in Mallorca to visit all its turquoise blue water coves. According to several travellers, visiting the island of Mallorca on board a catamaran is an incomparable experience.

How much does it cost to rent a catamaran in Spain?

The price of chartering a boat in Spain can vary depending on the season. If you want to rent a catamaran, the average price will be around 150 euros per day during the low season. Prices may increase during the high season, be aware that the high season months are June, July and August. If you want to rent a boat during these months we recommend you to look two months in advance and start the rental process as soon as possible.

The best time to rent a boat in Spain is between May and October. The sailing conditions during these months are usually calm and ideal for an unforgettable experience on the high seas.

Do you need a license to rent a catamaran in Spain?

There are many factors to consider when renting a boat in Spain. Depending on the type of boat you want to rent, you will require a licence. If you rent a catamaran, you will need a licence only if the boat is more than 5 metres in length.

If you don’t have a licence or sailing experience you can rent a boat with a captain. Having a captain is that most captains are locals and know the region like the back of their hand. Ask the captains for suggestions on local restaurants and hidden coves for an even better sailing route.
