Great sailing area with numerous route options. Highly recommended: the short climb to the summit on the island of Zut. A fantastic panoramic view of the Kornati and the neighboring islands.

Beautiful sailing area. However, the sailing conditions were not ideal during our week (rain and thunderstorms) Beautiful marinas and beautiful bays for anchoring or mooring at the buoy. Restaurant prices are not cheap, rather too expensive!

If you’re looking for a day rental, you can expect to pay on average €500 a day and around €4000 a week. 


 

Do you need a license to rent a catamaran in Croatia?

When renting a boat in Croatia, you will need to present a sailing license along with a VHF certificate. The port authorities will require this before you set off on your charter so it is important to plan in advance. In addition to these requirements, you will also need to present a nautical CV that details your previous experience handling a catamaran.

The Croatian territory is 56594 km2 and has more than 30000 km2 of coastline for water sports and sailing. The country occupies the largest area of the Adriatic Sea coast with more than a thousand islands and islets. The main sailing destinations in Croatia are:

  • Dalmatian: this area has more than 200 islets and reefs with crystal clear water. It has many unspoilt landscapes that can be observed from boats. Island hopping can be done in this area.
  • Dubrovnik: was one of the most important trading areas during the 19th century. It had a large fleet of merchant ships that brought prosperity to the country and neighbouring countries. Today its harbours and marinas welcome boats of all kinds.
  • Istria: This peninsula of crystal clear waters has a coastline with clean and beautiful beaches and harbours. It is a very diverse area with medieval villages and incredible architecture.
