Renting with Andrea was amazing. Great communication and easy to find the pick up point for the boat. We were staying at the Zattare water bus stop in Venice and we took the water bus over to the pick up point. Channel markers makes it easy to navigate the waters there so don't worry about getting lost. I would definitely rent from Andrea again! He was very easy to work with.

sailing in the lagoon in Venice is wonderful, from the view of Piazza San Marco to the islands and the possibility of stopping for a swim and eating in some restaurant on the islands. Trip that I recommend
navigare in laguna a Venezia è meraviglioso, dalla visione di Piazza San Marco alle isole e alla possibilità di fermarsi per fare un bagno e a mangiare in qualche ristorante sulle isole. Gita che consiglio

Venice is a very popular tourist destination, which means that all-yearlong boats will be booked fast and so no matter which month you choose to go, make sure you plan in advance. Unlike a lot of other Italian cities, Venice’s tourist season is during the spring months, as Venice is not a popular place to go to sunbathe or relax on the beach, but to enjoy the spring breeze and explore the city. The weather during the summer months of July and August can be uncomfortable for Venice, while months like May and April boast comfortable temperatures of low 20 degrees Celsius.

Venice follows the rules of the rest of Italy in regards to licenses, which is that possession of a nautical license is required for boats with engines over 10hp. However, there are a lot of boats available on the SamBoat website which offer captains included in the boat if you would rather enjoy a hands-off charter.

Overview of Venice

‘The City of Canals’ as some call it, is known as one of the most unique and stunning cities in the world, with its own host of traditions and culture separate from the rest of Italy, while also boasting the beautiful Italian weather and food.

If you are looking for an activity to do in Venice, the must-do thing to try is the Gondola rides around the city, which take you through the number of canals and islands that the city sits on and gives a completely different view of the city. This is a hands-off experience as well, as the gondoliers who captain the canal boats are trained to navigate the narrow canals, as well as provide educated information and entertainment during the tour. During your ride, you may see the Rialto Bride, which is a famous landmark in Venice, is the oldest in the city and connects the districts of San Marco and San Polo.

Another must-see in Venice is the art, including the Gallerie dell’Accademia which is a museum which houses collections of paintings, including the works of famous Venetian painters such as Titian and Canaletto. The culture of the city doesn’t stop there however, with popular events occurring in the city, such as the Carnival of Venice, which occurs during February and is known for the elaborate costumes and masks, which can be bought year-round due to their popularity. The festival is a celebration of Venetian culture. Another popular event is the Biennale di Venezia, an international art exhibition which is a major cultural event in Venice. Year-round, visit the Basilica di San Marco, which is a beautiful church located in the heart of the city, decked with mosaics, carvings, and domes.

When you are not exploring all the city has to offer, sit down with a coffee in one of the many bars, restaurants, and cafes in the city, and enjoy some of the world-renowned food including traditional Italian food, as well as influence from the nearby sea with seafood being a popular delicacy in the city as well.

Some of the popular sailing areas nearby include:
