Beautiful area. Tip; first sail towards Vaxholm and stock up on alcohol there (not available anywhere else!) The guide/pilot on board is very useful (although in Swedish).
Prachtig gebied. Tip; vaar eerst richting Vaxholm en sla daar je alcohol in (nergens anders te verkijgen!) De guide/pilot aan boord is (hoewel in het zweeds) zeer handig

Rent a boat with or without captain in Sweden

The best way to describe Sweden is to say that it is a wonderful country with thousands of rivers, lakes and islands. With countless stunning places to explore, Sweden offers some of the best views to appreciate while sailing across the country. Hiring a boat is definitely one of the best ways to fully enjoy an adventure of exploration in Sweden. On sunny summer days, you could go island hopping, finding hidden spots and navigate freely. If you want to, you could go for a swim, or simply relax and enjoy the wild scenery.

Best time to hire a boat in Sweden

The weather conditions will be extremely different depending on what time you visit Sweden. The country stretches vertically on the map, and reaches the Arctic circle in the very north, just like in Norway.

This means that the winters are brutal. With heavy snow and glacial temperatures, it can be quite a painful experience. This is also without even taking into account the endless nights. If you are courageous enough, maybe you’ll be lucky to see the northern lights.

Summer is a completely different story. With warm weather and endless days, the midnight sun will guide you through the night. Yes, the days never end and it makes it a perfect time to sail in Sweden.
