Best time to hire a boat in Port de Pollença

The Balearic islands have a mediterranean climate as they are located in the middle of the sea. Therefore, they have good weather conditions all year round. The spike season is during the summer where a lot of tourists visit the island to relax or enjoy the partylife in Majorca.

Do you need a licence to rent a boat in Port de Pollença

There are two cases where you will need a licence to hire a boat in Port de Pollença. If you rent a motorboat with more than 15HP or more than 4 metres long, the licence will be required. If you want to rent a sailboat, a licence is mandatory if the boat is more than 5 metres in length. You will always have to present a nautical CV detailing your previous sailing experience.

What to do in Port de Pollença

Cruise along the coast and anchor at a hidden beach that you find beautiful. For instance you could go to Cala Boquer, one of the most beautiful coves in Mallorca. This creek is near Port de Pollença and is normally only accessible by hiking for about an hour to get there. On the spot, you’ll find yourself in turquoise water, surrounded by two big rocky capes with green tops where you might even spot goats. 

You could also go for a day hike and explore Cape Formentor, with Its steep cliffs plunging into the sea. It’s actually pretty close to Port de Pollença, and you’ll be able to appreciate some of the best views on the island, such as the Mirador Es Colomer or higher up, you can climb the Albercutx tower, which also offers an exceptional view.
