Very elegant and classic 51-foot Italian sailing ship, built in 1983, from the Moschini shipyard. Rimini 51 is an ocean-going ketch that carries out dry dock every year with ordinary and extraordinary maintenance interventions. The rigging was entirely replaced in 2024. The boat is suitable for long and short cruises in absolute comfort but also gives satisfaction to sailing lovers. Excellent performance, across the beam, despite its size. The double engine makes Le Gitan - Rimini 51 - a safer boat than 90% of single engine sailboats. The large dinnet, with floor and windows raised above the main deck, makes this boat bright and comfortable, especially for ladies. Pleasure unit designed to live like in a home. Four internal bathrooms make this Ketch more comfortable than a catamaran, with the advantage of better seakeeping. The skipper's cabin, with its own bathroom, is independent from the rest of the rooms. The tanks can take on board up to 2000 liters of water and 1000 of diesel, making this boat capable of tackling long offshore cruises independently. El Gitan was built in 1980 by the Moschini shipyard in Fano, commissioned by Adria Yacht, now the Azimut group. Launched in 1981, it was designed by experienced seafarers, students of the great Carlo Sciarrelli, with the aim of creating a large ocean cruiser, entirely built according to the canons of the Italian maritime tradition. El Gitan is based in Isola Sacra (Rome), where the Tiber river flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea. Isola Sacra and the Tiber were a landing place for the ancient Romans for centuries. The boat is located in the natural dock of the Blue Dolphin Marina, which hosts 100 boats up to 30 meters. Nearby there is an efficient shipyard and all the essential land services: restaurant, bar, bathrooms with showers and parking. The mooring is on the islet of Tor Boacciana, in the center of the Tiber river, an evocative nature reserve protected by the presence of herons, cormorants and wild ducks. Ideal if you love living in a less artificial environment than the classic concrete marinas and having greater privacy, in contact with the beauty and harmony of nature. The Landing is located 10 hours by navigation south from the Pontine archipelago, therefore from the islands of Ponza and Palmarola. Palmarola is one of the most beautiful and wild islands in the Mediterranean Sea, with breathtakingly beautiful bays and a very famous restaurant, "Il Francese", which can only be reached by boat. Ten hours of navigation northwards you reach the Argentario Promontory, one of the most beautiful places in Tuscany, with the characteristic landing places of Porto Santo Stefano, Porte Ercole and Porto Giglio, on the Giglio Island. A few miles from Giglio you can then reach the legendary island of Montecristo (a nature reserve accessible only upon reservation and authorization), where Alexander Dumas set his bestseller "The Count of Montescristo". For lovers of offshore cruises, and for those who have more time available, with 20 hours of navigation you can reach the queen of the Italian islands, Sardinia, with its beaches and seabeds that have no equal in the world. Le Gitan is a boat for those who love construction tradition, and classic hulls built to measure for the yachtsman with a large family, or for a group of friends who prefer sailing without giving up the comfort of motor boats. El Gitan with its 4 bathrooms also guarantees a high level of privacy compared to boats of the same length. “The sea has never been man's friend. At most he was complicit in her restlessness.” —Joseph Conrad
