Excellent. The service was impeccable and the boat was in great shape.
We had a fantastic week. The team at Yelkenli were excellent. Brilliant service, friendly and flexible. My brother has some balance difficulties so needed a wider gang plank, they got one immediately and helped with all other requests. When we had an engine issue they sorted it out immediately. The boat was very well equipped and the sailing was wonderful. Would definately use them again.
The port city of Marmaris is a popular tourist destination in the Mugla Province of Turkey and is a Mediterranean resort town which offers views and experiences along the Turkish Riviera. Known for its nightlife and open-air clubs, Marmaris is a great destination for partygoers, as well as offering many daytime activities and family activities as well.

Marmaris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tukey due to the warm Mediterranean climate, which makes the summer months of June to September the most popular and the busiest. These months can also be the busiest, however, with hotels and transport costing on average almost double what they would during the off-season. Thus, we recommend booking in advance before prices rise and availability goes up. It is important to also note that in Tukey, a lot of the boats available are luxury yachts which cost a lot more than other boats.
Marmaris follows Turkish law which states that every captain must have an approved captain license to charter a boat in Turkey and should also have previous experience on boats of a similar size. If you plan on sailing on a motored yacht, your captain must have at least 2 years of experience on top of their sailing license.
The resort of Marmaris has grown massively over the last 50 years and is now an incredible sailing destination to explore. With the nearby uninhabited islands to visit, the hidden coves and the modern marina, it is a must to visit Marmaris by boat.
If you are heading into the town, make sure you visit the Marmaris Castle and Archaeology Museum. Although the town has only just begun to grow and become a well-known destination, the area has been fortified since 3000 BCE, with the castle being built in the 16th century. If you want to learn anything about the Mugla areas, this is the place to visit, with items such as glassware, coins, and architectural fragments, it is incredible to picture what life might have been like 5000 years ago.
While the history is interesting, it is no secret that people visit the beaches and sunshine. Visit the Icmeler Plaji, surrounded by pine-cloaked hills this small resort is tucked into a cove and is known for its safety and incredible facilities. For an even more secluded area, visit Cleopatra Island by boat, and enjoy the crystal blue waters of the cover, as well as explore the ancient settlement of Cedrae.
If you are visiting by boat, you must visit the modern Marmaris Marina, which is kitted with quays and jetties, and surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and shops with everything you can need on your voyage. From here you can set off on some incredible day trips around Turkey, to nearby cities and towns such as the well-known Gocek and Fethiye.
If you want to explore by boat but only for the day, take a boat down the Dalyan River, a nature conservation area which is set up to protect the sea turtles in the area and stop at the sulphur springs and mud baths for a natural spa experience.
Finally, two of the best man-made areas of Marmaris include the famous Bar Street and the Grand Bazaar. Bar Street is the street in front of the marina and is the place to go if you are looking for some great nightlife in the area. With so many bars and clubs to choose from, there is music for everyone, from EDM to Rock to Turkish Pop. The Grand Bazaar is a staple in Turkish culture, so make sure to stop by to admire or buy rugs, pottery, sweets, tea and coffee and so much more. Be prepared to haggle!
