Excellent! We had a wonderful time on. The boat was perfect and our captain was really nice. Giving us lots of information and taking us to great swimming spots. Would 100% recommend
We had an excellent 1 week long sail with Olga and Mitxel. We could not have asked for a better crew. They were both very personable and professional. They were actually motivated to sail instead of motoring around and we felt very safe-- even when we encountered a storm. We signed up to have breakfast and one other meal daily and sometimes wished we signed up for all 3 meals-- Olga is an excellent cook who usually beat whatever shore restaurant we went to for dinner. They own and live on the boat, therefore they are motivated to keep it self sufficient and in good repair-- they have solar panels and can generate their fresh water therefore if we didn't encounter the storm we could have completely avoided marina's if we wished, and slept at anchor. The guest sleeping quarters consisted of 2 doubles and a bunk bed (6 week total). We had wifi, access to snorkeling equipment, and 2 stand up paddle boards. Overall I highly recommend Olga and Mitxel and their boat Mekatxis!

The climate of the island is typical of the Mediterranean with moderately low temperatures in the winter and extremely hot summers. Although this is the case on land, the temperatures of the water always stay moderate and enjoyable falling only to 14° C in the heart of winter. The best time to enjoy the season and sail in Mallorca is between April and October. During this time, you'll experience the best weather in Mallorca. As in most destinations, you'll find that July and August are the busiest months and the beaches and ports will be quite busy. If you visit outside of these months, you'll find more relaxed conditions and the weather will be almost the same.
In Mallorca, you'll have a wide selection of both sailboats and motor boats. When it comes to pricing, the season and the type of boat will affect the overall price of the boat. For example, sailing during the busy months of July and August will bring up the daily and weekly rates of all boats. For catamaran rentals in Mallorca, you'll find the average price of daily rentals to be around 450€ per day and sailboats will be a bit lower averaging 350€ a day. For motor boats, it is best to search by type of activity you want to partake in. Some boats are designed for water sports activities, some for fishing and some are generally better for seeing the coast. You can sort by type of activity and find the boat that best suits your needs. Generally, motor boats can start as low as 150€ per day.
Since it is a major sailing destination, boat charters in Mallorca will need to be booked well in advance. For most yacht rentals, you will need to start your search as early as November to ensure you find the boat that best suits your needs. Generally, catamarans are the first to be booked followed closely by sailboats. For motor boats, you can look for boats a few months before your arrival, but the sooner the better. Rent a sailboat in Mallorca and sail to Formentera and Menorca.
When hiring a boat in Mallorca, there are specific cases where you will need a license to drive a boat. If you choose to rent a motor boat with more than 15hp and more than 4 meters in length, you will need to provide a valid license. For sailboats, you will need a license to charter if the boat is over 5 meters in length. Either way, you will need to provide a nautical CV detailing your previous experience in regards to what waters you sailed and what type of boats you captained.
If you do not have enough experience or would like to have stress free holidays, choose a boat with a captain. Captains will guide you through your custom itinerary and since they have local knowledge of the area, they will show you the hidden gems of Mallorca.
