The whole family was extremely happy with the boat trip. Prior to the trip the communication with Giovanni was really good and everything went according to plan. The boat was perfect for a larger group and the guys on the boat could not have been better. Perfect !

Giovanni was a superb captain and guide. As a native from Ischia, he was knowledgeable and brought us to the best locations by boat. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would certainly hire him again in the future. Highly recommended!

Do I need a license to rent a boat in Ischia?

If you want to charter a yacht in Ischia, you will need a license to rent a boat. If you're from an EU member state, your license will be automatically valid. If you're from outside the EU, we recommend getting an ICC which is validated by the United Nations. In addition, you will be asked to provide a nautical CV describing your previous experience and what type of boats you handled.

For motorboats, you will need a license if you rent a boat with more than 40 horsepower. Anything below 40 can be rented without a license.

Overview of Ischia

With a boat rental in Ischia, you will have the opportunity to tour the island far and wide. What's more, if you can charter for more than a day or a week, we are sure that by using Ischia as a starting point to explore the coast and the other Neapolitan islands, you won't get bored!

Charter your boat at the port of Ischia and head east to circumnavigate the island. The first stop is the Aragonese Castle, a medieval-era structure that stands tall on Ischia's easternmost point. Located on a small island connected by a stone bridge, the Aragonese Castle certainly falls among the must-see attractions. If you are a lover of local history and culture, you will also find the Torre Guevara, another renowned local historical relic, in the area.

Continue your tour south to Mago Cave and stop for a snorkelling session at the beautiful San Pancrazio Beach. Enjoy underwater flora and fauna surrounded by a unique naturalistic landscape. Continue by stopping for lunch at one of the many restaurants on the coast. Visit the Fumarole dei Maronti to the south and the beach. Then head to the Elephant Arch and the Tower of Sant'Angelo.

For those who are around for two days or more, we recommend continuing around the island and going ashore to follow one of the many hiking trails in the Serrara Fontana area. Then head to the small Bay of Sorgeto for a dip, and again to Baia della Pelara.

Continue west to Punta Imperatore: here visit the famous lighthouse. Then enjoy a visit to Citara Beach and take advantage of all the local amenities, including the various restaurants in the area. Enjoy a long walk on the kilometre-long beach before making your way to Cala dell'isola Beach. Here visit the village's quaint little streets.

Visit the famous smooth white rocks of the Lovers before heading east to return to the starting point. On the way back visit Chiaia Beach, San Montano Beach and Varulo Beach.
