Croatia is a destination known for its incomparable beauty and crystal-clear waters. Sailing along the Dalmatian coastline is absolutely beautiful! As a result, here is an itinerary for a week-long cruise starting from Split.
DAY 1: Pick up your boat in Split, sail to Milna (Island Brac)
The first day is relaxing so that you have time to get familiar with your boat. Sail quietly and take advantage of the calm sea and the warm sun.
Milna is a natural port situated at a fjord reaching far inland. It therefore used to serve as a shelter for the imperial fleet. The harbour is a true paradise for sailors because of its long tradition of seafaring, fishing and winegrowing. It is ideal for sailors who wish to combine the pleasure of taste (great Mediterranean gastronomy) and the view of beautiful architecture. You will enjoy a stopover in Milna that is for sure!
DAY 2: Milna → Island of Vis
14.8 nautical miles, 3 hours of sailing
Vis is definitely one of the most beautiful islands in Croatia. The access to the island was forbidden for tourists during the military occupation of Yugoslavia in 1992. It is therefore still a preserved place that is well worth visiting. The south of the island of Vis is characterized by its caves and beautiful bays. It is highly recommended to discover for example the bay of Rukavac, Mala Travna or Stinivia. For spending the night, you have two options: You can drop anchor in a natural creek or stay in the port of Vis or Komiža.
DAY 3: Vis → Lastovo
36 nautical miles, 7 hours of sailing
With its typically Mediterranean and wild nature, Lastovo is another wonderful island. The most beautiful town of the island is Lastovo village. The city is attached to a hill, has the shape of an amphitheatre and is turning its back to the sea. It is first and foremost known for its chimneys that look all different. The Skrivena Luka bay, also called “the hidden harbour”, is one of the numerous idyllic places to spend the night.
DAY 4: Lastovo → Korčula
28.6 nautical miles, 5 hours 45 minutes of sailing
Being well rested you can now start your journey towards Korčula, “the black island”. The legend tells us that the ancient Greeks, when they discovered the island, saw nothing but a black outline because of the dense holm oak and pine forest. We recommend booking a mooring in the medieval town Korčula where Marco Polo was born. Visit the city, which is rich in culture and art and admire its Venetian buildings. Last but not least you should taste some of the typical white wines on the island.
DAY 5: Korčula → Hvar
34.1 nautical miles, 6 hours 45 minutes of sailing
As from the fifth day you slowly have to start thinking about heading back to Split. The next stop is Hvar and the small charismatic islands in its surrounding area. Visit the fortress of Hvar, where you can admire the fantastic view over the Pakleni islands, situated along the Adriatic.
DAY 6: Hvar → Supetar
22 nautical miles, 4.5 hours of sailing
We advise to return to the Island of Brac on the 6th day and to anchor in the creeks near Supetar. Take a luxurious bath in the crystal-clear waters of well protected coves. This ensures perfect recovery before you gradually have to return back to reality.
DAY 7: Supetar → Split
12.3 nautical miles, 2.5 hours of sailing
It is time to take your last swim and return back to Split. This week of cruising through the Pearl of the Adriatic will remain in your best memory.
