When to sail in Lanzarote?
Lanzarote has privileged weather almost all year round, and during summer the weather is even better! However, according to many travellers, the best months to visit and charter a boat in Lanzarote are April, May, June, September and October. During those months you will have warm weather with a low probability of rain and a favourable wind for sailing.
Day 1 – Playa Blanca, Lanzarote
You will start your trip in Playa Blanca, one of the towns in Lanzarote with the best beaches, bars and restaurants. Enjoy your arrival in Playa Blanca, stroll through the streets and prepare everything you need for your exciting sailing adventure. The boat will be waiting for you at the Rubicon Marina, from where you will weigh anchor and set sail to the best places for an itinerary in Lanzarote and its surroundings.
Dia 2 – Playa Blanca towards Puerto Calero
8 nautical miles, 1.5 hours of sailing
Puerto Calero is a tourist resort in the southeast of Lanzarote. You can visit the Timanfaya National Park with its incredible volcanic landscapes. According to several Astronauts, the landscapes in this park resemble landscapes from other planets. You can anchor your boat in the marina of Puerto Calero, one of the best and most protected marinas in the area. This marina is one of the best places for overnight stays. Day 3 – Puerto Calero towards Caleta del Sebo
25 nautical miles, 5 hours of sailing
Departure early in the morning to the La Graciosa island, a barely explored island that preserves its nature almost untouched. On this island, you can organize hiking or beach days to relax and forget your every day worries. It is a small and quiet island, well preserved by the local people. You can anchor your boat at the dock of Caleta del Sebo, a safe and good place to spend the night. There you will find services such as drinking water, electricity and fuel.
Day 4 – Caleta del Sebo towards Alegranza island
21 nautical miles , 4 hours of sailing
Now you are about to embark on an adventure to Alegranza Island. A small, uninhabited island that has a massive volcano. As you get closer to the island, you will be amazed by the breathtaking scenery. Anchor your boat in the cove El Veril, where you will find tranquillity. It will be just you, your crew and your boat! Take this time of absolute serenity to unwind and enjoy the company of the people you are travelling with.
Day 5 – Alegranza island towards Lobos Island
40 nautical miles, 8 hours of sailing miles
After spending some time relaxing on the island of Alegranza, it’s time to set course for the island of Lobos. A small island located between the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. There you can enjoy quiet beaches and crystal clear waters. If you are a snorkelling fan, you can explore the seafloor of this island and discover the marine life that pops up from all sides. You can anchor your boat at Lobos Beach, it is the most sheltered place from the wind, and you will meet other sailors with their boats.
Day 6 – Lobos Island towards Caleta de Fuste
20 nautical miles, 6 hours of sailing
After the adventure on Lobos Island, it’s time to explore a bit of Fuerteventura island. This is one of the Canary Islands not so often visited by tourists. There you will find beaches and several tourist attractions that are a must-see. Like the castle built in the 18th century or the Dreams House Museum. Nearby you will also find the Salinas del Carmen and a museum to learn about this industry. You can anchor your boat in the marina of Caleta de Fuste, one of the safest on the island. There you will find services such as potable water and electricity.
Dia 7 – Caleta de Fuste towards Playa Blanca
28 nautical miles, 5.5 hours of sailing
