The month of October and even May can be a bit cooler so if you want to experience Sardinia's signature weather, you should go in June, July, August and the beginning of September. The winds are present throughout the season and are quite strong so the waters are geared for those with some experience. When chartering a yacht in Sardinia, you can expect to pay on average of 450€ a day for smaller catamarans in Sardinia and 550€ a day for larger catamarans during high season. Do you need a license to hire a boat in Sardinia? 

If you want to charter a yacht in Sardinia, you will need a license to rent a boat. If you're from an EU member state, your license will be automatically valid. If you're from outside the EU, we recommend getting an ICC which is validated by the United Nations. In addition, you will be asked to provide a nautical CV describing your previous experience and what type of boats you handled. 

For motorboats, you will need a license if you rent a boat with more than 40 horsepower. Anything below 40 can be rented without a license.
